Anthony C. Hill is pastor of the Escue Chapel C.M.E. He's a member of the NAACP and his local Black Heritage Club. He's also a member of the Larned Noon Lion's club and Board of Directors for Sunrise, Inc. He also works as a substance abuse counselor, team leader, and group leader for the Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility. Tony is a retired Army Master Sergeant, having served in the military for 24 years. A lifelong learner, Tony is also a Human Services Major at Washburn University.

Tony explains that he has been an avid student of politics and social issues for years, but, never actually got involved, that is, until recently. In 2006, after years of flirting with and listening to Republican, conservative, right wing political views, Tony began reading as a counterpoint, material by more liberal, Democratic authors on a variety of issues. Among them, he read former President Jimmy Carter's book, Our Endangered Values (America's Moral Crisis), Barack Obama's The Audacity of Hope, and Obery Hendricks's Jr.'s The Politics of Jesus.

Tony says that his increasing involvement in politics has been a slow but steady process. Eventually, Tony realized that not only was he a Democrat at heart, but that he needed to get involved. In 2008, he attended a local Obama campaign planning meeting in Kansas. At that meeting, he met Pam who convinced him that he should make his voice heard by engaging in public service through social action and political dialogue. Subsequently, he began attending Democratic party events. Now, Tony even serves as Chair of his county's Democratic Party.

Tony hopes to put his 24 years of leadership in the military and his 11 years as a pastor to good use in grassroots efforts to create positive change. He emphasizes that he's not seeking to become involved for reasons of personal ambition, but rather to offer himself as a willing servant and concerned citizen whose time to get involved is long overdue.
