Chris Steineger welcomes you to read his words here.
Chris Steineger was born in Kansas City, Kansas and grew up in Muncie, a township on the edge of the city limits. His father is former Sen. Jack Steineger, a veteran of the Kansas Legislature for 28 years and his mother Margaret served on various community boards. His life in public service was inspired by his father's commitment to all Kansans. Chris serves as a board member for the Kaw Valley Arts and Humanities; Mid America Manufacturing Technology; Kansas Technology Enterprise Corp; and the International Relations Council of Kansas City.
Chris has served the 6th Senate District in Wyandotte County for over 13+ years. He has experience at all three levels of government, including staffing U.S. Representative Jim Slattery in Washington D.C.; Assistant in the City Administrator's office in Kansas City, KS; and as a tax auditor and collector with the Kansas Department of Revenue. He has also worked in the private and non-profit sectors. He owns and manages rental property, develops residential real estate, and manages other financial assets.
His public policy focuses include early childhood education, health care restructuring to provide lower costs to employers and health coverage for all Kansans, energy resources which are sustainable, and consolidation of local government for efficiency and better decision making.
He is a 2010 candidate for Kansas Secretary of State.
We are certainly thrilled that Chris is writing with the Kansas Free Press!
