In August 2008, in Franklin County, Kansas, the Democratic Party was completely unorganized and inactive. Caleb Correll came in, at the last minute, started the reorganization process and at 23 years old, was selected as the youngest County Chair of a political party in the state of Kansas. With a less than shoestring budget and the odds against him, he waged a full scale grassroots campaign that saw Democratic registration numbers return to the levels of the last period of organization in Franklin County, held the bleeding to let freshman Representative Tony Brown win an open seat that had been held for six years by the Democrats, and increased the Democratic vote in Ottawa by 10%.

Now that election is over, Caleb is still hard at work to strengthen the Democrats in Franklin County. He has also recently become the Kansas Second Congressional District's Chair of the Young Democrats. Caleb plans on working hard to build coalitions within the county parties and invigorate the Young Democrats of Kansas' Second Congressional District.

Caleb has always held a strong passion for politics and speaking out for people and causes that need a voice. While in college, he helped lead the fight to build a disc golf course in Ottawa. Caleb sites his father as his inspiration for getting involved in politics, "My father always said, you need to take ownership in your community. It doesn't matter if you're in the minority, your community, state, and country belongs to you just as much as it does to the other side."

Caleb, now 24, lives in Ottawa, Kansas and works as a records clerk for the Department of Special Services within the Ottawa school district. Prior to that, he was a para-educator for two years, giving him a special interest in issues of education. When he's not busy with grassroots politics, Caleb finds time to promote concerts, and is an enthusiast of disc golf, tennis, and coaching basketball.
