Christina Braden was born and raised in Olathe, Kansas. Today, she lives and works in Wichita. Having lived there for over a decade, she calls the Air Capital her home.

She has faced many challenges throughout her life and she believes that all adversity can be turned into something positive when it's embraced. Christina and her brother were raised by their single mother, who worked for minimum wage in a plastics factory. This meant the family did without many things. She believes her childhood made her the person she is today.

Christina is a single mother and has three beautiful children: Haley, Lauren and Dominic. Her eldest daughter Haley has Cystic Fibrosis, and Christina says she never wants to see the day when her daughter is unable to obtain healthcare services because of her pre-existing condition.

She works as an advocate for people with disabilities and teaches leadership skills, grassroots organizing, and self advocacy (amongst other classes) to people with different types of disabilities. Christina also facilitates an advocacy group called Advocacy Concerns Team in Action (ACTA). ACTA members discuss and act on matters such as transportation, legislation, housing, and accessibility.

She found her passion for politics through her work. In her role as advocate, Christina has traveled to Topeka to speak with legislators concerning issues facing people with disabilities. She attends the bi-annual Disabilities Caucus in Topeka.

Christina's interests include writing, blogging, politics, religion and music. She also twitters under the name advocate4all and uses new media and networking tools to spread news and information about a wide variety of human rights.

Christina feels compelled to fight for those who lack the power and money to fight for themselves.
