WICHITA, Kan. - If one would have asked me if the Republican Party has gone completely off its rocker I would have to say no, At least that true for the majority of rank file members. Recent events however test that resolve, verbal racist slurs at Congressmen John Lewis and Andre Carson, protesters spitting on on Kansas City Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.
Then apparently egged on by self styled Militia leader Mike Vanderboegh, of Pinson, Alabama,.calls for a modern "Sons of Liberty," to smash windows at Democratic Party offices. Vandals broke out windows at several Democratic party offices in NY, and Arizona and here in Kansas.
Over the weekend, someone decided to send us a message.
They could have called, or written an email, or even stopped by to talk. But instead, they decided to throw a brick through the window of Sedgwick County Democratic Party Headquarters.
Luckily, no one was in the office at the time and the only thing damaged was the window itself.
As we saw yesterday with the historic passage of health care reform, we Democrats are not about to be intimidated by petty thug tactics.
Help us send a message today. It's going to take a lot more than a brick to stop us from working for Kansans and electing good Democrats.

While it certainly true that health care is a catalyst for the recent incivility. It seems that many of the birthers, deathers, teabaggers, vandals, militia members and others are more upset that they lost their right to not have a black President, than any real grievances, and that's not to say their aren't legitimate reasons to oppose Congressional or Presidential policies. Doing it with hate, vitriol and childish stunts isn't the way to do that.
