HAYS, Kan. - It's been a great winter - that is, if you are an opponent of global warming theory. Bitter cold temperatures and plenty of snow makes this winter one of the most memorable in a long time. Some say that we're entering another ice age, and mastodon sightings have been reported in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts.
Kansas' 2010 forecast is particularly chilly and scientists predict a major shift in November. A strong 4 to 8 year cold front will move into Topeka beginning in January 2011, and current glacial conditions in Washington, D.C. will continue if the Kansas low-pressure area holds its grasp in the House and Senate.
So, to critics of science, I recommend bundling up. Take one of your extra tea bags and have a nice cup of tea.
For the rest of us, I think it's time we start a good old fashioned prairie fire. It worked on the bison and it may be the only way to stop the mastodons from trampling us.

Welcome to Kansas Free Press, Henry! We're honored to welcome you here. We need you in these important days of the coming Ice Age!
Henry, I like your analogy. We had great hopes of climate change after the 2008 elections. Long term changes in climate are hard to measure or even notice. When someone predicts today that next winter will be mild and warm, you best not throw away your winter jackets, come spring.
When the predictions are that Obama's promise of change is defeated, don't throw away your hopes.
