MOUND CITY, Kan. - "Abort Obamunism," "Proud to be the Party of Know," and "Spay and neuter Democrats," were only a few of the mean-spirited signs hoisted by the "Tea Bag" attendees Thursday in front of the steps to our nation's Capital.

Another popular phrase, "Water board Congress," could be read on several signs and buttons.
Instigator of the "Tea Bag" protesters, Michele Bachmann, received the loudest cheers. Speaker and author Mark Levin suggested that Democrats are illiterate.
Thursday's GOP rally at the Capitol was technically a "press conference." According to a Capitol Police spokesperson in one report, lawmakers did not have a permit for a protest. However, speakers at Thursday's "press conference" took no questions. Rather, they repeatedly shouted to the "fired up" crowd, "Kill the Bill."
The parade of members included every GOP candidate for higher office including Senator Sam Brownback who is running for governor of Kansas and Todd Tiahrt grinning ear-to-ear who stood proud behind House Minority leader John Boehner who addressed the group.
GOP lawmakers' content they found nothing wrong with the hateful signs - their version of "freedom."
Thursday on the Mark Levin show Bachmann claimed the number of attendees was "20,000 minimum."
"This was word of mouth, this was word of mouth, Mark," she asserted. "And it was minimum 20, 000," emphasizing again, "Minimum."
Twenty thousand is the number decided on by the GOP and Fox News. Sean Hannity confirmed the number last night; lacking any cite of a source for the number.![]()
MSNBC put the number at 4,000, after citing Capitol Hill Police sources.
David Koch of Wichita based Koch Industries, Inc., and Foundation Chairman of Americans for Prosperity (AFP), funded the expense of providing 40 buses to transport "tea bag" protesters to the event.
Conveniently, from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., the GOP hosted a live video feed in conjunction with the protest, highlighting many right-wing lawmakers discussing the 1,990 page "Pelosi plan" for health care.
GOP senators quizzed guest speakers why AARP would support the Democratic House health care bill. While former AARP vice president Herb Clark could not answer the question, 60 Plus Association President Jim Martin, gave his own assessment:
"Because they (AARP) have been in bed all along with Pelosi, Obama, and Reid." Martin referred to AARP as a "big insurance conglomerate" who "see's dollars... and made over a half billion dollars in royalties selling insurance."
Thursday, Martin issued a statement on the House of Representatives health care reform legislation regarding AARP's endorsement of the reform plan:
"Members of Congress take notice; seniors have long memories and will hold you accountable next year if you vote to cut Medicare.
"Obamacare doesn't make sense to seniors at 60 Plus, but AARP's endorsement makes a lot of 'cents' to AARP and their corporate bottom line.
"Either AARP is an insurance behemoth, addicted to obscene profits on the backs of fixed income seniors, or they're advocates for the elderly. They can't have it both ways. No wonder AARP members are melting down the phones at 60 Plus headquarters."
Representative Jack Kingston, a Georgia Republican feigned shock on the live feed when hearing AARP was an Insurance company.
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network announced its support for the bill, as did the American Medical Association, who had also endorsed the former bill.
Ironically, the GOP presented their 219-page bill for health care reform on Wednesday. [Pdf version of GOP bill here.]
Promising to discuss details of the bill - only lead to comparisons of why the "Pelosi Plan" contained so many pages. "What does it mean to get a 2,000 page bill... written in legalese - it has to be done as a nation for us to understand it," Kingston said. Who went on to prevaricate "Under Nancy Pelosi and Obama, we have the largest deficit in our lifetime." One particular contradictory statement made by Rep. Jim Jordon, an Ohio Republican, claimed the Democratic Party is the "party of money, not the party of empowering people." Based on behavior of the crazed right wing, disconcerting would be a major understatement.
Kansas' own Rep. Lynn Jenkins twittered a bewildering comment.
"Section 330 permits - but does not require - Members of Congress to enroll in government-run health care.
This section would allow members who support a government takeover of health care to avoid participating in the very system that they are pushing on the American people. It seems that the Democrat majority is saying it's good enough for their constituents, but they are not willing to give up their own private insurance."
Wonder which part of the word option Jenkins does not understand. Oh, by the way - a single voter is referred to as a "Democrat," the party is officially named the Democratic Party. If we are being politically - correct.
For all the hullabaloo the GOP manifested as a final outcry to their base to contact "Blue Dog senators and their own senators," another - more acute urgency filled the airwaves for two days straight sucking the hot air out of their balloon. Maybe karma played a factor.

Really good, Denise! I'm so glad you researched this and shared it with us.
