EMPORIA, Kan. - Holton, Andale and Hugoton are the only undefeated teams in class 4A, but there should still be some great match-ups before the final game.
Early Round
Ulysses (5-4) at Wellington (6-3)
Wellington survived a scare last weekend at Chaparral, and survived a weak district. Ulysses was in a tough district and played a tough schedule all season, if there is going to be an early round upset, it will happen here.
Prediction: Ulysses 27-17
Buhler (8-1) at Colby (7-2)
Buhler had an unfortunate loss late in district play, while Colby swept through their district. Buhler should be able to overcome the higher seeded home team.
Prediction: Buhler 35-17
Top Late Round Match-Ups
Holton vs. Louisburg
Holton should roll all the way to the state championship since they have the weaker half. This may be the only test for them as Louisburg has looked good this season.
Prediction: Holton 35-10
Andale vs. Hugoton
The question all season has been, who is going to get the chance to face Holton in the championship. The answer is...whoever can win this game. Andale has looked good all year and played a tougher schedule.
Prediction: Andale 35-28
State Championship
Holton vs. Andale
The Wildcats have been great all season and should make this game easily. This game will be played in Salina, so Andale may have the larger fan following.
Prediction: Holton 27-21
